CNMI Family Ties in Politics...Leukemic?

Marianas Variety reports today that "Blood Ties No Longer Work in NMI" according to a speech given by former PSS Commissioner of Education Rita Inos during the recently held Chamorro Conference.

Could this be true? Does this mean "Chong Won" (not sure with the real name) the Korean, will have a chance on the US Delegate seat? How about Sen. Crisosistimo? Is he in trouble this coming election? Who has a bigger clan here, Pete A., Gonzales, Sablan or Crisostimo?

Now, that makes an exciting election in Nov.

  3. The only way to remove blood ties as an election issue here is to drain all politicians of their blood.

    Rita's delusional...

  5. The blood ties will matter less as more non-Chamorro and Carolinians enter the voting pool.

  6. Nope. You're assuming the non-Chamorros and Carolinians will vote as a bloc. They'll split their vote and we'll have anti-business as usual

Blood is thicker than water in the CNMI. Tim V. will be found NOT guilty on all counts. He will then sue the Feds for malicious prosecution, as I would too. His hired gun lawyers fired all of the white lawyers and for good reason. His defense will probably hire as many local lawyers as possible. What this does is put the entire clan right in front of the jury: Lujan, Sablan, Torres, Villagomez, etc. You see, it doesn't matter if Tim is "really" guilty or not. We live in the CNMI.

Just my own personal opinion anyway.

  8. I think the jury will find him guilty even if every juror is local. Locals in this community have had enough like the rest of us.

  9. I believe there is now a slide in the familial voting. The youth are more educated and their political awareness is considerably better.
