  2. and how does Mr. Villagomez fit into this poll? He does not even refer to the CNMI as his home... (that is from a reference on his blog).

    ...and Juan Guerrero?

    Kind of negates this poll.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Are you determined to have me lose every poll in the Saipan Blogosphere?

    ReplyDelete
  4. ...and home is where your Mom is. Right now she's on a mountain in Costa Rica. In a few weeks she'll be in Florida.

But she's coming to Saipan in December!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Angelo is the only one on the list capable of being unbiased with only the future of the CNMI (and not his personal gain) in mind.

He doesn't care where he stands politically with the people who are currently in power and he isn't afraid to rock the boat (neither is Stanley for that matter).

Get new blood in there and have Cinta be his running mate. That's the best ticket to say "No" to racism and "Yes" to progress.

I would then keep Mike Sablan in charge of making sure all dealings are above board.

    ReplyDelete
  6. oh lordy... sandinbrad again? on behalf of the beachboy... "biba floridian!"

Cinta is a good lady... with a spine by the way

    ReplyDelete
  7. The cantankerous package guy at the post office gets my vote.

    ReplyDelete
  8. ...and I don't want to be Governor. I want to be Saipan's Best Blog!

  9. Jimmy Buffet

    Parrotheads unite!

As Pete Reyes says to be perennially reelected...Why Not?

    ReplyDelete
  10. That's darn right! WHY THE HECK NOT dream dreams and get things done. WHY NOT believe these islands can true paradise and people can work hard and prosper? WHY NOT trust that the people you elect will work for your best interest and that of the community's? WHY NOT!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Ey c'mon? No stanley votes? he's the balance in the equilibrium! I would've put Bruce Bateman and Robin but Mr. Jeff the Freeze, wouldn't like it. You're right Borego.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Angelo is leading this one? Who's gonna be his sidekick, EJ?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Brad, are you planning to be Angelo's Press Secretary?

    ReplyDelete
  14. wow...let's be honest now... you ended this poll extremely early. You left the Tina/Angelo poll up for a month. Why did you end this now? Did you end it when the results you wanted were achieved? Curiously suspicious? Angelo is a two-faced spineless idiot... he picks up cans and girls...yeah...good governor. Give us a break!

    ReplyDelete
  15. aw, i'll go out on a limb and guess that anonymous sounds like someone who's a bit unhappy.

for real, if you call people names you should at least let them know who you are.

not doing so is spineless, don't ya think?

and for the record, there's nothing wrong with picking up trash and girls. now a trashy girl is something different altogether.

and i love cinta. that's why she'll be a great influence on a guy who's not afraid to call it like he sees it.

it's okay if you don't like him. but is there anyone on the list who is a better candidate?

giving him the florida tag is a cop out. who are you and what have you done?

    stand up and be recognized...

on another note, i would have liked to see tina sablan's name up for a vote.

she's another one of the people here who won't settle for business as usual.

as a sophisticated, well-spoken, educated woman she'd be a beacon for the next generation of local women to look to as an example of success.

we NEED her in office somewhere. please run girl! run, run, run!

...and if you need a first man...(sorry glen h).

  16. Hey Anonymous, can i call you Nony, as in nony(i) juice? kiddin'

Nope, the poll for gubernatorial bets aren't over yet. It's going to end on Aug. 14, fyi. The poll I posted is Jeff Turbitt's not mine.

Angelo is taking it so seriously, he deleted our links to his blog, i'm tellin' ya.

don't be shy. cast your vote!

    And Brad, cute. just cute.

    ReplyDelete
  17. SandinBrad...it's not about the messenger... it's about the message. Yes, Cinta and Tina are beacons in the night here...both straight up and both with spines. I don't know if you read it... but after Tina's landmark three part letter in the paper last January...Spineless Angelo, who sent her a sharp rebuke...which happened to be forwarded to many people. If you haven't read it...you should. Basically, he proved himself just another crony... defending his "enfamilia".

Tina was right on in that letter, and for him to have the wherewithall to challenge any of it was only proof that he is just one of the gang, who, in the end will stick up for the history of his family...

    SPINELESS

He touts himself a progressive/liberal...he may be... but not when it comes to sticking up for his relative politicians.

Get a copy of that letter he wrote her... it'll make you vomit.

    ReplyDelete
  18. ...summary of candidates...

    Cinta - Woman (won't win)
    Hofschneider - He's disappeared
Oscar Babauta - two faced (switches parties in order to win a seat)
Waki - He's disappeared as well
Mike Sablan - Too straight, won't get anything done
Stanley - complains so much he looks crazy
Juan N. Babauta - Ideas too ahead of CNMI's current mentality
    Chamber Guerrero- dumb
    Angelo - upstart transient

    ReplyDelete
  19. OMG! That's so funny!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Anonymous-

You are hurting our troop morale. Don't you know that we are at war?

    ReplyDelete
  21. ...and I think Holani Smith should be added to the next Governor poll.

  23. Spineless is hurling around nasty personal attacks anonymously.

    ReplyDelete
  24. i made no personal attacks on anyone. stating facts isn't personally attacking someone. We can all use a little truth right now.

    ReplyDelete
  25. it's sunday and i could use a little barbecue right now. btw, our soccer team is playing at the oleai sports complex today at 4:30pm. hope to see you all there...anonymous or not.

oh, and my email address is bradinthesand96950@yahoo.com is anyone wants to send me vomit inducing letters.

one more thing before i go, if angelo is just a transient without a care for the cnmi, how can he also be "just another crony... defending his "'enfamilia'"?

he either cares about this place or he doesn't. which is it?

i also happen to think that calling someone "Spineless Angelo" is less a statement of fact and more of a personal attack.

anonymous, if you're afraid to reveal yourself to the 10 of us who read blogs on a daily basis, why not just say this to his face?

that requires a spine. it's not a challenge or a dare. i don't personally need to know who you are, but i would take you more seriously if i knew who you were and the nature of your agenda.

taking pot shots from the shadows isn't exactly taking a stand for your beliefs. it's just fueling hate in the community.

even jackasses like danny aquino and eric atalig publish their names with their hateful rants.

(actually, eric may have gotten better by now but danny still rants from time to time in the paper)

oh well, i guess i won't be able to get that point across to you. must be all the sand between my ears.

enjoy your sunday barbecue in the rain. if you ever wanna talk about all of this over say lunch or a beer, drop me a line or gimme a call at 287-2723.

    ReplyDelete
  26. transients can't be cronies? I'll ponder that one.

    I miss the rain...

    ReplyDelete
  27. ... and my only agenda is truth. I've no other "agenda". Not all of us have "agendas". Some of us just like to call things as they see them and cannot stand racism or hypocrisy for that matter. To attack these is not hateful... indeed it is love.

    ReplyDelete
  28. ...and lastly... I reviewed my posts and comments, I am not the only anonymous on here, but I'm sure you can figure out which are my posts. Anyways, until "Jellyfishes" comment, there were only two of you "bloggers" adverse to my posts (2 out of the 10 on here right?), all of the other commentors thought I was right or at least humorous:) Laugh a little Sand... and maybe reflect a little more as well.

    ReplyDelete
  29. "Angelo is a two-faced spineless idiot... he picks up cans and girls...yeah...good governor. Give us a break!"

and how is this not name calling?

granted your response will be your effort to "call things like you see them" but that's just an opinion from a nameless, faceless shmoe in the crowd.

i should know because i'm a shmoe. the only difference is that i give a name and a face.

people who move in shadows aren't to be trusted.

obviously you care about the cnmi otherwise you wouldn't waste your time commenting here.

    so what gives?

if you have a legitimate beef than serve it up. how about sending me the email you referenced for one?

slapping tags on people from behind the grassy knoll doesn't seem to make you any less spineless than the intended victim of your pot shots.

i'm trying to understand your point of view here. a little help?

maybe i just don't count because i wasn't born here either.

    ReplyDelete
  30. cmon boys n gurls, calm down. Our blog doesnt intend to discriminate as we welcum all opinions, 'xcept when u mention r names here hehe. Now dnt u kol me spineles. Ive got osteoporosis now. Brad, cn i take dat beer offr instd? Hehe. Forgv my msg coz im usin my wifi fone.

    ReplyDelete
  32. yawn... it's so nice to sleep on rainy days. Good night Sand. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    ReplyDelete
  33. personal attacks eh? "jackasses...eric atalig and danny aquino"... oh no...that's not personal. give me a break Sand. If you don't like my posts... don't read them you beautiful man you.

    ReplyDelete
  34. "people who move in shadows aren't to be trusted."

Brad, that's a personal attack on Batman and I won't have it. If you're against batman, you hate justice and freedom. Repent now.

Anonymous, don't be calling batman a transient. Dude's been kicking it in Gotham City all his life.

Mr. Pibb, on the other hand is a bullshit replica of Dr. Pepper cause that dude didn't even get his degree. He dropped out and started making pop at an early age.

Next poll, would either paper run this comment as a letter to the editor, and would it make more sense than the Gonzalo Santos letters they run every two weeks?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Mr. Pibb is worlds better than Dr. Pepp... I miss Mr. Pibb...

    ...well, back to the shadows.

    ReplyDelete
  36. missed the cold beer....

    ReplyDelete
  37. anonymous, i hope you're tina if you're calling me a beautiful man...

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm having a hard time keeping track of all the things I'm being accused of doing. Can someone write me a list?

    ReplyDelete
  39. ...and thanks for reading our blogs!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Figured he'd (Sand) would dodge the comment about personal attacks. You are quick to lay down the personal etiquette protocol of the blogosphere, but quick to ignore your own rules. When using "jackass" to describe a person becomes less than a personal (and immature) attack on someone... you can spout off somemore.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Like you said, he's not namecalling, he's just stating facts...and fact has a well known liberal bias.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Jimmy Buffet is a spineless transient lacking in convivial, protocol oriented, conversational consideration of other people's rather thin skinned feelings. Why, OH WHY, did I ever nominate him??

    ReplyDelete
  43. i did slip in a jab at the two previously mentioned guys. with regards to my prior statement on name calling, my point was that i made my identity known when doing so.

    good morning...

and by the way, we won yesterday, 7-1.

    ReplyDelete
  44. lol... ur funny brad. a personal attack is a personal attack... you pious self-righteous thing you.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think this is the most commented on blog post in CNMI history.

    Congrats, Writers!

Who knew that a blogger environmentalist could be the source of so much controversy?

    ReplyDelete
  46. This conversation has drifted too far from our next governor: The old, cantankerous package guy at the post office.

  48. btw anonymous, you never sent me the email angelo sent to tina. angelo did though.

if it's the same one you were talking about i don't think it was anything terrible.

it's possible that you were speaking of a completely different email. would you fwd it to me?

oh, and please include any cute pix of tina.

on that note, she's way prettier than the photo they put in the magazine.

    ReplyDelete
  49. ***note: this is a completely different anonymous poster than any that have poster here yet (getting confusing, perhaps i should make up a fake identity...)***

out of curiosity, there was a poll conducted on this same blog about 2 months ago on "who the public thought would make a better leader". if memory serves me correct it was between tina and angelo. the end result i believe was tina getting more votes.

if this is accurate than why would the same blog people put angelo's name down instead of tina's?

    just curious.

    ReplyDelete
  54. She is cute!

    Okay, here's the next poll:
Is Tina Sablan Cute? Yes or No?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Do I get a prize for number 60?

    ReplyDelete
  59. This has now entered the realm of ridiculousness. I'm jealous!

    ReplyDelete
  60. ok. will count and Saipan Middle Road comment #60 gets a prize from us!

    ReplyDelete
  61. A chat room? Where is Tina Sablan on this list. Put her on or I will nominate Alan Staymen for gov.
    Yes, Tins is sexy....

    ReplyDelete
  62. okay, tins are sexy but i am a fan of precious metals as well.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I second that. Put Tina on the poll list.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Forget the list, just put Tina on the pole! Oops, I mean poll...

...thought it a fitting post for my post number.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I'm keeping the even numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  66. jeff gets to a free tour at d gov. ofc. and legislature with baman. Hehe.

    ReplyDelete
  67. give hime a tour with his hairline compaire charles reyes, more better.

    ReplyDelete
  68. so how is everyone doing tonight? I'm about to go watch a soccer game.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I'm fine, and the soccer game was great! Even though the Dread Pirates defeated Wild Bill's, 3-2, it was a thriller through and through.

BTW, you should stop out for Wednesday night's game at the CPA Airport Field between the Pika Raiders and Taya Talent at 5:15pm.

Morgan Rose will be there, and I'll try to get Tina to cheer for our team!

    ReplyDelete
  70. ok. so what's going on with sand and saipan blogger?

Tina should not be included in the poll, because she is a serious woman.

    ReplyDelete
  71. governor to be..those candidates aren't...

    ReplyDelete
  72. how did we go a whole day with only one or two comments on this post? we were averaging a ton!

oh, and tina sablan is looking good to the majority of her voters. have you voted for her yet?

    You still can at:

    http://beachboyinparadise.blogspot.com/2007/07/new-poll.html

    ReplyDelete
  73. it's reached its peak sand, give it up. give it a rest. btw, the chamber had a meeting and looks like its going to be quiet until the hearing two weeks from now.

    ReplyDelete
  74. yeah, and juan pan stood up for the chamber in the face of criticism. while we might not agree on everything, i like that guy. he's got spunk.

see you at the meeting next week?

oh, and the presentation on the wind turbines was the most worthless thing i've ever seen.

i wouldn't buy a used car from those guys. it seemed like they didn't know what they were talking about.

and their power point showed the only figures that may have meant something for about one second.

    ReplyDelete
  75. How about if Brad ran for governor? He'd at least be sexy.

    ReplyDelete
  76. The world's chalk-full of balls and "spunk"... that's not what we need here. We need intelligence and foresight. The Chamber's been sadly lacking these.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Balls and Spunk....sounds like a great name for a political party, or a grunge rock band, or maybe a dinner entre' at Billy Bobob's Bayou Kitchen.

    Other nominees?

    ReplyDelete
  78. How about Holani Smith for governor?

    tee hee hee

    ReplyDelete
  79. I rule the even numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  80. mr. bateman, since stanley is one of the nominees here in the poll, what can you say about his lashes in his last letter about you?

    ReplyDelete
  81. I can say he has a difficult time accepting the fact that anyone can have a different opinion than his. His usual reaction is to lash out and attack the person, instead of focusing on the idea or argument.

While I like the concept of an 'independent' legislator, it seems that most of Stanley's spewing is independent only in so far as it is independently in his own self interest most of the time.

We need the spur-in-the-side voice there at the legislature and I'm glad he's there. But trying to run a country with that attitude and that tyrading style would be disastrous. Governor Stanley? Ludicrous.

    Your view?

    ReplyDelete
  82. he needs his staff mr. angello to tie it.

    ReplyDelete
  83. ouch, keep talking like that and stanley won't leave any presents under your tree when he slides down the chimney on december 25th.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Ah, the Chimmny Sliding Party. Maybe it will catch on like the Covenant Party did.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Just doing this one to be # 100.

    Silly, but 'Why Not'?

    ReplyDelete
  86. best political campaign ever!

and congrats to middle road for having the most commented upon blog post in the cnmi...by a landslide.

    triple digits...

how can they be so popular but not win the most popular blog?

    ReplyDelete
  87. it's the anonymity. had people known who middle roaders are, well, they might still lose anyway...;-) got that rev?

    ReplyDelete
  88. It sure is rainy today.

I'm upset that Ambrose Bennett isn't running for office.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Vote Tina Sablan for Congress!!

    ReplyDelete
  90. vote this blog post back to the front page! keep the comments alive!

    ReplyDelete
  91. i believe that would be too much sand. there are other issues to discuss...like me being anonymous?

    ReplyDelete
  92. Hey anonymous, at least create a nick or a unique anonymity so we know when it is really you.

Yeah, put this post back on the front page.....drag and drop this puppy back to the top of the heap. Keep it rolling.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Angelo Villagomez the next governor. Isn't he like the Michael Vick of the CNMI, setting up a boonie dog fighting ring. Whichever boonie dog runs ten feet wins.

    ReplyDelete
  94. And I'm reclaiming another even number.

    ReplyDelete
  95. It's Katie not Angelo, Jeff.

    ReplyDelete
  96. i prefer kitty nuggets...

    1. tina sablan
    2. ron hodges
    3. mark hanson
    4. martin n
    5. steve woodruff
    6. ed propste
    7. wendy doromal

    ReplyDelete
  99. none because ALL are corupted!...saipan needs a president rather than governor.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Angelo and Cinta for Governor is a joke. Neither has backbone to speak the truth and both are as underhanding and deceptive as you can get. Both are weak.

The two best choices for Governor in 2009 would be either Ed Manibusan or Efrain Camacho. Both are level headed, smart, and experienced. Neither are poor, so their personal finances would not influence their decision making.

Perhaps Tina is the one for 2013 with Ed Propste.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Tina Sablan..for Governor or congress...PLEASE..

Q: So Tina, what are your thoughts for the future of the CNMI and the local people?
    A: hahahahahhahahahh... hehehehehehehe.

I'll vote for her if she is serious to take actions. All she has done are the followings:

    1. Create a new election zone, then run for congress.
    2. Argue for part time congress, then she does nothing from 7:30-13:00 but run around and ask for questions as a freshment usuallly do. While others are already voting.
    3. She has only done 1 (ONE) bill in 6 months, then she went on vacation. With paid salary.
    4. She has not helped any of the local people getting a job. For instance hiring someone for her Secretary.
    5. She argues in the house chamber, then cries for she in unprepared.
    6. She lobbies for federalization then she disappears.
    7. During session,
A)MR.SPEAKER, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THESE BILL.
B)MR SPEAKER, I NEED SOMEONE TO EXPLAIN TO ME HOW TO BECOME A RETIRE.

    ReplyDelete
  102. You sound like one of the cronies at the legislature.. and one of the problems. If you don't get it.. there's no way I'm going to help you. You're as backwards as they come.. and as I eluded to, the reason the CNMI has the problems it now has. Get out.. the community really doesn't need to be drug down anymore by your type.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Juan N. Babauta: Now do you see what he was trying to do for the CNMI?
