Just A Thought....
Breaking News...
United Airlines to charge double for obese passengers...
In the story, the airline management shared with the media that they've received legitimate complains about horizontally challenged passengers on the plane occupying two seats or cramping travelers seated in the middle of three seat rows or columns.
Have you had similar stories? ;-)
Story here.

Clyde Norita = triple charge?
Planes are flying full these days. Wish they could have a payback for sitting next to a flatulent neighbor, but how does one measure that?
If there is an empty seat, a passenger of size (PoS) will be allowed to sit next to it at no additional charge.
It is only if every seat on the plane is sold out that a PoS would have to buy two seats, or can be given the option to stand by on the next flight.
When I am seated next to a PoS, I absolutely, positively, insist on putting the arm rest down between us. I've paid for my space, and the airline is required to honor that.
PoS, nice. PfG, passenger full of gas, not much defense there. Maybe the guy on the flight to Hawaii had his own form of protest. Person of size. That is a great acronymn. means nothing offends no one. How about; Huge fat butt..
so what do you consider a big butt?
Good point, SMR.
I'm not overweight, but I think the airlines need to be regulated to provide larger seats, more room between the rows, and more leg room. Ever hear of DVT? Maybe some of our trial lawyers should start suing the airlines. It's absolutely criminal that they charge us so much to go absolutely anywhere, then cramp us into spaces a sardine would be claustrophobic in.
Compared to the importance of Tina's Open Govt. request, this post has no interest whatsoever.
THE OGA IS A BIG DEAL HERE for those who did not notice.
The game show and soap opera channel feed you only so much.
true, so start your own blog about it and let middle road blog as they please.
and as for big folks, they're people too. if they can't fit into one seat, and the airlines charge per seat, then they should pay for the extra seat.
it's a courtesy that the airlines allows chubby passengers to stretch out when flight loads are light.
bigger people have rights, but those are rights against discrimination.
if you need two seats then you should have to pay for them.
that said, i can see an airline recognizing the needs for fatter americans by adding wider seats.
there are a lot more "people of size" in the world (especially in the united states) and maybe they'll lobby for wider seats.
being big, no matter how you slice it is a matter of taking in more calories than you burn in a day.
think of exercise as an investment in lower travel rates and a longer life.
thank you for that.
just in case anonymous wasn't taught to analyze way back in his/her growing up years, perhaps he/she should look around and see that this post is so relevant to the CNMI. Of course people who think would get what we mean...
that previous comment is for the scribe...
Go observe the Looting Governor's trial and you will see some very well fed people.
Ed, would you please save it for your blog?
The Pacific Island areas have big people. From Hawaii, American and Western Samoa, Tonga, Guam, NMI, Marshals,Palau, Tahiti, French Polynesia, etc.
The majority of these iniginous people are big no matter their calorie intake daily. many of the "mixed" carry the gene that make them big also.
Many of the airlines hava already been charging extra for a while now.
Go to the NMI Museum and observe the old photos (say 65 years ago)of the Chamorro people. They were in excellent physical shape until they were "liberated" by the US and then started consuming shitty foods! The same for South Pacific Islanders....Yes, they are large people, but were not seriously overweight until they started eating lamb flaps, corned beef, turkey tails (for christ sake) and other crap foods (that kiwis and ozzies won't eat)sold to them by New Zealand and Australia.
Can you buy Spam with NAP food stamps? (stamp)
calorie intake vs. calories burned
that's all you need to know about being fat.
as for the chamorros of 65 years ago, they were skinny because they were worked like dogs and didn't have as much to eat as they could fit in their faces.
there's a big difference between being active and sitting behind a desk stuffing your face with fritata.
