Motorcade for Aid

Dubbed to be the "Final leg in their journey for reform" the foreign workers and supporters will once again hold a "Unity March" to "seek support for the U.S. Department of Interior's recommendation for improved immigration status for all long-term guest workers in the CNM."

Are you up for it?

The foreign workers should be ashamed for the contributions to global warming this motorcade will make. Do they want to see the taotao tano underwater?

Why? We're going to have to pay for two seats every time he flies back and forth between Saipan and D.C.

I bought a bird feeder and hung it on my back porch. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.
But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue. Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table .. EVERYWHERE!!!!
Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. And others birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food.
After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch anymore. So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio. Soon, the back yard was like it used to be .... Quiet, Serene.... and no one demanding their rights to a free meal!

Or demanding to control your house.

That is what the feds are going to do. It says it right there in black and white in the CNRA.

Thank you Uncle Sam!

Reducing contract workers to zero by 2014 will be good for the CNMI, no matter what Fitial thinks!

It seems impossible that five years have passed since the tragic and untimely death of Terri Schindler Schiavo by dehydration and starvation at the hands of her husband. Life Legal Defense Foundation’s Board of Directors and staff honored Terri’s memory by remembering her on the fifth anniversary of her death. We will never forget Terri, nor will we forget her family’s valiant effort to save her life. Even after five years, LLDF is still honored and humbled at having had the privilege of assisting with the litigation pursued by Terri’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schindler, as they attempted to rescue their daughter from a forced death.

One of the lessons learned from Terri’s death is that should you become incapacitated by illness or disability, the person who is your decision-maker could mean the difference between life and death. LLDF encourages you to honor Terri’s memory by protecting yourself with a protective medical decision document. Please visit their website and review the pro-life Advance Medical Directive they have made available for your protection.

"and no one demanding their rights to a free meal!"

Free meal? Last I heard the non-locals can't get food stamps or Medicaid or free housing. They work for their meals.

"So I took down the bird feeder ... I cleaned up their mess..."

I am surprised you worked this out yourself and not hire someone to do it.

"I bought a bird feeder and hung it on my back porch."

You brought this on to your own house without thinking it through. You didn't mention why you did this in the first place? You benefited from the bird's company, their beauty, their songs, but you mention none of that. Now the birds are a nuisance? Give me a break you ungrateful jerk.

It hasn't yet been published in the local newspapers that the appeal of Mohammed Kamal Hossain seeking derivative non-refoulement status for his family in Bangladesh has been denied by the Ninth Circuit.

Hossain v. CNMI & USA, Civ. No. 08-00016 (D.N.M.I. June 4, 2010).

A man who owns a house and land is having a hard time taking care of it so finally he decided to let Uncle Sam, a wealthy and generous man take control. At first uncle Sam gave the chance for the man to control who comes in and work for the house and land.

But as years has passed by, the entire scenario have become worst, there were influx of workers and the economy is going down. Uncle Sam, a generous man has given a lot to the man and his family.

Now it is time for Uncle Sam to take full control of the house and the land but the man and his family were revolting. They know that Uncle Sam is generous and he will give the workers the chance to be residents of the place.

The house and land is now owned by Uncle Sam, so uncle Sam is the rightful one to decide.

The house is now owned by uncle Sam and not the man.

The reason Uncle Sam took over was to throw out most of the "workers" who had falsified their credentials or applications and, in any event, had not been pre-screened by U.S. consular officials.

But until now the man is having fantasy by claiming that he owns the house and land, also telling that the workers are his visitors who wants to take control of his house.

How can he say that this is his own house where in fact he entrusted it to uncle Sam, wherein uncle Sam is giving him and his family bountiful blessing.

Uncle Sam on the other hand can still give independence to the man if he claims and cry for it. But the man knows that if he will be independent from uncle Sam he will suffer much loss. The question is can he stand and live on his own?

The workers are not visitors now but workers who stayed long in the house. They should be residents according to Uncle Sam's standard. But the man have taken out this privilege to the workers.

It is now Uncle Sam's time to decide...

Uncle Sam has responded by raising the application fees for guest workers who are “demanding” their “right” to Lawful Permanent Residence!

“Federalization: You asked for it; you got it.”

(Though the people of the CNMI would never agree, independence requires “mutual consent” between the federal and CNMI governments, Covenant § 105, a provision enforceable in federal court. Interestingly, the Covenant and, currently, the CNMI constitution are silent on how consent by the Government of the CNMI is given, so theoretically the Governor could sign a deal with the U.S. granting the CNMI independence and revoking the citizenship of all persons who gained it solely through the Covenant. See Covenant § 506(d).)
