A Four-Day Work at the LB?

I know it's in the news about a four-day work sked for the Legislature. Yup, to cope with the budget problems in the government. However, does this mean that the CNMI leaders will also work only for four days a week? I believe it didn't say in the news.

However, I'm sure the legislators will still work five-days a week to serve the community all week long. Yet, without their staff working in the office on that unpaid day...hmmm...let me rethink about that. Or should I say, let me rethink about the phrase "In service to the community."

I figured Lil would pick up on this Congressional 4 day work week plan...its the same poor souls against a part time legislature.

What a joke.

There is absolutely no reason why we have a full-time legislature.

Time and time again, a part-time legislature has been proposed. It is time to put that proposal into action. We need a leaner government, and we should start trimming the fat and cutting the pork from the top down.

Ramon, go to your room right now!

Anon, the only thing I accept is that we have a long way to go if we have idiots like you on Saipan. Do the right thing and have yourself neutered. Evil begets evil and stupidity begets stupidity.

Ed - We really should invite the 130 anti-fed/Fitial Freedom Fighters/TTT members to the next 10k "Unity March" and give Ramon a ringside seat to the show.

Invite one of the priests from Kristo Rai and have him bugger one of the alter boys on stage. That will draw a crowd and increase attendance at your next Unity March.

dont the legislators and government officials have to be bound in the "service to the community" agreement when they ran for government and/or decided to work for the government? So, if they're going to cut the day, why not just find a solution that they can serve the community five days a week?

private sector is doing its best to serve the community by dividing its employees and their time to serve the community all week long.

why can't the government do that?

Because that would take logic. How much logic does this Republican-controlled House and Senate have?

They are all worthless, minus a few bright spots such as Tina Sablan.

It is reported she is too young to run for governor. I think she is too honest. You can't govern without being corrupt. An honest governor is an oxymoron, whereas Ben Fitial is just a moron.

Even with proposed four-day work at the LB, personnel at the Bureau are still grossly overpaid; especially the LB Director. She makes what??? Twice what legislators earn.

Employees of the LB have BEEN working 4-day work weeks but being paid the full 40 hours every week. I agree about the comment on the LB Director. She is way overpaid for the work she does. Heck, how many employees does she manage? 30? It is criminal that she earns more than department heads who have way more responsibilities!

Our legislators do not even do three days worth of work a week so why does anyone care if they only come to work 4 times a week.

A 4 day month at 3.05 would be fair.
