Trust Me....

Ahhhh...the ever phrase or line that transcends in a relationship. A word that is just intangible and so hard to hold on to. In this case the island people's trust in the Covenant Party as reported today in the news.

Over a thousand people showed up during the Covenant Party campaign rally recently where Covenant officers and aspiring officials attested that the trust of the people is still with them.

Hmmm. Could this be true?

You tell me.

I saw Cinta waving between 2 nine year olds and most of the throng seemed like children. Tough economy x free food + free beer = plenty needy people.

I would estimate the number at about 400 to 600, or about 5% of the Unity March.

the anarchist said...

400 to 600 is about right because there are 400 new hires and maybe 1/2 those are married plus their kids minus those off island on golf junkets.

That group couldn't march past the food line.

There were about 500 - 600 people, mostly those too young to vote.

Fitial is on the way out BIG TIME.

With furloughs threatened, government employees who want to keep their jobs need face time with the govnuh

600 people divided by six people per picnic table (they hold eight) equals 100 picnic tables. Way low.

There were at least twice that number seated at the tables, plus standees. Why not ask the Covenant Party how many tables they had?

“A total of 120 tables were brought at the venue and each table could seat at least eight people.”

120 x 8 = 960

One could clearly see from the photo that the picnic tables are not full...so could they be exaggerating their number? hmm...I think so!

Hi, I'am a French food blooger, I participate to a game called "arounbd the world in 232 recipes" in which bloggers have to cook a speciality from a country they are attributed...I hade the Northern Mariana Islands, which was the occasion for me to explore this paradise virtually...As far as the recipe goes I'm having a hard time finding it and was wondering if you could help me. Thanks a lot!

Hahaha! 1000? Look at the fucken picture it is kids and empty! Fuck Fitial and the corrupted covenant tan party you are on your way out

Anonymous said...

I saw ben tan at kimci cabana n he fell asleep n snoring n ramon mafnas carry him out

Anonymous said...

He is being questioned by FBI in Washington again even though he keeps claiming he is going to see Janet. Bye-bye Fitial

Anonymous said...

There weren't 1000 people there. There were several hundred. The rally was less than a quarter of the size of the one held when Fitial first ran and lost. He'll be lucky to get more votes than Kumoi in the election.

The US government takeover here will not be complete until ben Fitial and Willie Tan are behind bars.

This “indictment” inuendo is part of the negative and incivil politics of the past that we have risen above.

The statute of limitations has long since expired on Abramoff-related misconduct in the CNMI. But in any event, not a single Indian tribal leader was charged, and the CNMI would be no different. We are the victims of Abramoff's schemes, not the perpetrators.

g00$e said...

Who's 'we'?

Unlike the tribal leaders you refer to the Guv'nah, Tan and the rest of the garment magnates benefitted immensely from 'Abramoff-related misconduct in the CNMI'.

Anonymous said...

Noni two above,

You are wrong. Last year Indian tribal leader Glenn A. Marshall, the former chairman of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, pled guilty to violations of campaign finance law, along with tax, wire fraud and Social Security fraud in connection with efforts to gain federal recognition for the tribe in the Abramoff scandal.

Fitial should be behind bars. The statute of limitations has not passed. Better read up on the last five Abramoff-related indictments. The CNMI indictments are coming.

Victims? Ha,ha, ha. The CNMI has partnered with and thrown money at these crooks and felons for decades.

Zachares is talking. Every 3 months they move up his hearing while he "cooperates". It's now in July.
Time to throw the CNMI crooks and liars behind bars.

Wonder if the FBI will be as kind to him as they were with the Lt. Governor when they let him return to the CNMI as not to embarass him at the LT Gov's convention?

Anonymous said...

“We” are the taxpayers, the people of the CNMI who wasted $10+ million on Abramoff lobbying under governors Froilan C. Tenorio and Pedro P. Tenorio.

I really think it is too late to prosecute those two, but would love to be proven wrong. As corrupt as Juan Nekai Babauta’s administration may have been, at least he didn’t waste any of our money down that particular rat-hole.

W. Tan will not go to jail as billionaires never do. As for Fitial, he was just local protection, or a nickel dime operator like THs other employees and I doubt the US is that interested.

Federalization and the Open Govt will put them all out of business here.

Anonymous said...

Wait..... wait a minute here... are you calling Steve Pixley TH's legal counsel a nickle dime operator and local protection?

Anonymous said...

Tan Holdings are here to stay. Ask around and take an inventory of all the businesses they own pal. You will be shocked.

The Feds are actually THC tenants. Willy is actually the Citizenship Office's landlord.

Poops.

US taxpayers lining the pockets of Willie boy? Better them than the CNMI taxpayer. What a laugh! Could Willie be helping Ben with his Fed lawsuit by using rental income?
Ah yes... as the coconut palms sway in the gentle balmy tradewinds.

Dear Scribe:
The difference between the Fitial rally crowd and the unity march crowd is not the numbers; its who will still be here in 3 years. Win, lose or draw the citizens and voters at that rally will still be here, the 'gust' workers will be Gone With the Wind. I assume they will be thanking the perpetrators, excuse me, organizers of that unity march from their cozy shacks back in the PI.

Anonymous said...

The difference is the guest workers will still be here in 3 yrs. U my friend will be unemployed this November. Bwa ha ha ha LOSER, ASS KISSER.......

Anonymous said...

There will be no difference. Guest workers who have real jobs will get to stay, those who don't will have to go, and the Fitial rally people will finally have a chance to get private-sector jobs they are qualified for, instead of farming them out to foreigners.

Ms. D. said...

Hear, hear!

And the cost for employers to keep hiring those foreign national workers will rise significantly in the short run, eliminating the artificial over-supply of labor.

In Heinz we trust.
In Ben we trust.
In Juan Pan we question.
In Nekai we are repulsed.
At Kumoi we laugh.

Did they take up a collection for Tim to keep his big boat that John Jones gave him for the no-bid Cisco contract?

mehearemsay said...

Noni above are you back again? What's with your past cryptic comments about this boat/Cisco deal? Give us some hard facts..not this hearsay anecdotal crap.

Anonymous said...

To mehearemsay,

JOHN JONES gave TIM VILLAGOMEZ a 40foot, 200k dollar boat as his cut for a no bid contract that CISCO got from CUC...signed by TIM.

BOB HUDKINS was a 50% partner in the boat that they had paid 50k for and was in the hospital when JOHN gave the boat to TIM. BOB H. received 25k, or his 1/2 half the boat in cash from JOHN JONES, the CISCO owner.

THIS DEAL IS VERY EASY TO VERIFY AS BOB HAS TOLD THE STORY AT HAMILTONS TO 6 PEOPLE STANDING AT THE BAR.

This is no big deal as all the Korean community know that to get something illegal from Tim, one needs only to give $ to the owner of Happy market and he will deliver it to Tim.

mehearemsay said...

Oh great a story told in Hamilton's....to a bunch of regulars. Sorry to say it's still only anecdotal comments. No serious investigation will ever arise from bar talk.

Anonymous said...

Unless you are Stanley Torres. :)

Anonymous said...

The second story office over Tanapag Mobil station is a higher level CNMI government fund transfer point than Happy Market.

Key players in the boat deal used to brag alot. But not lately.

Stanley doent remember anything the morning after.

Guess that's the beauty and freedom of the blogs..(and in the bar) You can say whatever one wants and never be taken to task. Well.... maybe not in the bars.....You do need to check out the backseat before you get into your car!
