McCain-Palin or Obama-Biden?

Who should win and why? Who will win and why? Is the media being fair?

Obama should win. McCain supported Bush War II and that alone will defeat his bid unless southern and midwest democrats are racist and jealous of minority acheivements of the past generation.

What's interesting is how sexist the liberal attacks against Palin have been. It's logical for liberals to disagree with Palin's conservative views, but to suggest that her family responsibilities might disqualify her for her job goes against everything feminism is supposed to stand for. Feminists should celebrate how her husband is taking over many of the parenting chores to support his wife's career. Instead, some on the left are actually questioning his manhood. The reaction to Palin has done more to damage the credibility of the feminist establishment than anything has since they excused Bill Clinton's sexual harrassment. That's not to say that feminist principles aren't good ones; it's just that so-called feminist leaders ought to follow those principals rather than undermining their own credibility with such blatant partisanship.

Obama's bipartisan rhetoric has been extremely inspiring, but while Obama talks the talk on bipartisanship, McCain has actually walked the walk: McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, McCain-Lieberman and countless other bills or issues whereby McCain has been willing to piss off his own party. Obama is a very impressive guy, but the fact is that he's too far to the left to have the bipartisan achievements that the centrist McCain has.

Obama is one of the most eloquent statesmen that we have and his words truly inspire. However, I find McCain's quiet acts of resistance as a POW, including his refusal to go home without his comrades, to be more eloquent than any speech that any politician of either party has ever given. Although McCain is nowhere near as gifted a speaker as Obama, I found McCain's convention speech very moving. His life is a testament to the proposition that actions speak louder than words.

McCain-Pal-Win

vs

Obama-Beaten

is that an omen?

Speaking of "Beaten" Biden, it was a mistake for him to admit that Hillary is more qualified than he is. He was only trying to be gracious, but his remark will only fuel the resentment of those who think that Obama passed over Hillary to pick a less-qualified male.

What do any of them think about the CNMI?

McCain is very familiar with the islands has people close to him that are big supporters of the islands, including the CNMI. Orson Swindle, a fellow POW and one of his closest friend, is very familiar with the CNMI. Orson is married to Angie Williams, who has been working to promote economic development in the CNMI over several years at the University of Hawaii Pacific Business Center and OIA. McCain himself has traveled extensively through the islands--definitely Palau and the FSM; not sure about the CNMI.

And, of course, Obama grew up in Hawaii.
